dew tour and free pedals

August 27th, 2008

howdy all, i missed the deadline set by myself for the friday freebies. was it intentional? to play on the fact that bmx racing the olympics kept getting delayed from rain… or it could have been the fact that i didn’t have computer access in portland and 50/50 eddie was buying too many drinks from the bar??? either way final decision tomorrow.
the dirt comp was pretty sweet, the old guys are coming back! nastazio kicked ass! he’s really one of my favorites, personality for miles and he’s got wild moves that seem to just work out… anyway there is probably footage of the comp on the internet somewhere.
wahoo !

Euro Jim…

August 27th, 2008
Jim is off to the UK for a bit of riding, hanging with Carlo, and to pick up whatever european home-improvement tips he can. Last week he celebrated running water, the next day, he celebrated making his drain work. That kitchen has to be something....

way back when(sday)

August 27th, 2008

Not many names out there will recognize Scotty Clevenger. He made a huge impact on the scene of the south east. He was one of the first Pro’s I ever saw ride. Every time he, Mike Ritchey, Jon Moak, and Cory Muth came to our jumps all the ratty kids (I was one of them) went nuts! Scotty was invited to compete in the first “X” games (then known as the extreme games). This photo was taken by my Dad at the Play Clothing ramps in Winston Salem, NC. Steve used to live there. Further stories welcomed in the post section..

DK Portland wrap up

August 27th, 2008

The boys put on a great showing in Portland. Brian Hunt, Anthony Watkinson, Charlie Bowers, and Drew Bezanson all rode awesome in the PDX. Hunt was smiling all weekend, despite the fact that he had a broken jaw and his mouth was wired shut. It was rad to see DK shirts all weekend long, we were certainly a presence in Oregon. The boys stayed a couple extra days to shoot and film at some local parks. We even had the chance to ride the legendary Burnside. Congrats on a great weekend boys and we will see you in Salt Lake City! Drew Bezanson planting feet under the Burnside Bridge. B Hunt..whipping with  a wired jaw. The boys. Drew Bezanson, Charlie Bowers, B Hunt, and Anthony Watkinson.

Mondrian Shoes at the Great Wall

August 27th, 2008

Kevin O’Brien of the NBL sent us some shots from China the other day. Here’s what he had to say:

“Well, the Mondrians were a big hit in China. The Olympic athletes, UCI, Tourists, CBC Staff, everyone wanted them. So to pay tribute to those wicked shoes, they asked me to take their picture on the Great Wall of China. Here it is along with a few other pics.”
