it's pretty rare for me to buy a cd. with utorrent, albumhunt, and mates cd collections... i guess it's pretty hard to motivate myself to purchase one. occasionally i will buy a cd if i really like an artist... ok i guess i'm a terrible person. well anyway, this situation forced me to go out and spend dollars on a cd... well... because... you can't find it online (or at least I couldn't), i think cause the band broke up.
well anyway, a dozen furies were a small-ish hardcore with slight metal influences (but not really in that metalcore bracket, i don't think) from dallas. they won the battle for ozfest, which from what i can gather was some form of a tv show where bands compete for a record contract, spot on the ozfest tour, and some cash. they won the competition, released the cd, did the tour and then broke up.
anyway, the album is pretty much awesome. i explained it to tony like this... "it's kind of like they went out, took influences from loads of different hardcore bands and then said 'lets take all the good bits out and do them
tastefully'... they didnt overdo anything".
anyway, i'm stoked on it, and i'm stoked that it cost me like thirteen bucks with shipping off amazon. you might be able to find a few tracks off limewire, and they do have a bunch of tracks up on
their myspace that are downloadable. if you're into this kind of music, i don't think its worth going past. let me know your thoughts in the comments.
