CHASE CLASSIC/FIRST LOOK

We are hard at work on the new Chase D Classics and they are looking to be our best shoe yet by a long shot. We are still early in the stages so I have to keep it under wraps but here’s a sneaky preview. They are also on a new more classic styled cup sole.

MOVING ON UP

August 31st, 2010

I was going to wait to announce this but we have 3 additions to the Lotek “Pro-gram” this month. The first is our newest and youngest rider on the Pro team Craig Passero and the 2nd is David Grant who is in general the man in all way handrail. I’ve gotten to know these guys more and more over the last year and they have been so down for Lotek that it felt like it was time to step it up. Not to mention the real reason was I got to see what they have both filmed for the DVD so far and was blown away then the OSS DVD dropped and it was final.

It’s interesting how a lot of brands (Lotek included) feel the need to wait until the riders are more seasoned and older until they really stat helping them out and putting them on the pro teams while by the time they are that age the small amount we can do as BMX companies helps so much less and to be honest you don;t get as stoked to ride 10 hours a day as you did at 17 haha. 28 year old just don’t appreciate $100 a month and free shoes like 16 year because they gotta pay that rent.

So with that long rant said I’m going to be doing a Lotek grassroots team similar to the Stranger one where you can send in a video and 20 or possibly more people are going to be a bel to join our small crew and get discounts on all the gear you need the future and if you want have your photos and videos featured on the Lotek site. I feel sponsorship has become such an unattainable goal that a lot of kids get bummed out when they never hear back from companies and lose hope that maybe one day they could be a little more a part of the thing they are so passionate about but sponsorships have become such an elite thing that very few get to take part in the experience.

We are going to run it from now on as the “Pro-gram”, the “Flow-ram”, and the “Bro-gram” (which is our grassroots team that receives half off on all Lotek gear) program. These are all huge pieces will make up the majority of the future Lotek family and I would love to see some young guys be able to come in and stick with us for the long haul and move up through the ranks without having to try so hard and compete with the current pros that have been killing it for years already. Sponsorship doesn’t need to be such a serious defined thing we just want to mutually be down for the riders that want to be down for us.

Of course we can only bring in 20 or so guys before we go bankrupt haha but if you think this sounds like something you would be stoked on send in an email with a video (preferably private on vimeo with the password) and I will make sure to check and reply every one personally.

Thanks!

I just finally starting working on a long over due signature shoe for my main man Hoang Tran… More details real soon! Also keep an eye out for Hoang in the new Subrosa video “Get Used To It” dropping later this year I believe, it sounds like they have been on some wild missions around the world for this one and Miles Rogoish is making it so you know it will be dialed.
