Vans’ coveted toe-capped and Sidestriped silhouette, the Old Skool, prepares for summer with an assortment of Americana, tropical and solid styles releasing this April. Inspired by the Fourth of July, two patriotic colorways are presented in a series of stars and stripes. The men’s make-up features alternating patterns across the medial and lateral sides while the women’s counterpart is covered in an all-over star arrangement. Tropical vibes influence the next set of printed lace-ups as the Old Skool is detailed in flamingo and pineapple skull motifs utilizing a lively palette of turquoise, pink and blue. The female-unisex portion of this beach-inspired pack introduces updated floral prints in white and magenta. A casual collection of canvas color-ups brings this seasonal offering of the Old Skool to a close in vibrant yellow, black, high rise, aster purple and twilight blue hues.
The new colorways of the Old Skool retail from $55 to $65 and are available now at select Vans stockists.
OH MY GAWSH! This is probably the best thing I’ve seen this year so far! Mati Lasgoity just dropped this ridiculous new video part for Vans, filmed in the street of Barcelona by the one and only Fernando! The riding is straight fire and Fer killed it on the VX! WATCH THIS NOW!
“No transcontinental flights, harsh deadlines or High Definition … just a VX videopart filmed entirely in the streets of Barcelona.”
This was our second trip for the Vans BMX Video that we’re filming all year for. There are some hidden gem skateparks out in the boonies outside of Buenos Aires and we were able to catch a sunset session on our last night in town. Colin Mackay and I are also shooting photos for a book to release around the same time as the video, this toboggan by Coco Zurita will probably find it’s way into those pages.

This spring, Vans Apparel introduces a variety of hat styles including bucket lids, campers and vintage-styled caps. Gregg Kaplan lends his artwork to the Gregg Kaplan Bucket Hat, a cotton bucket lid with a custom pattern on the band. The assortment also presents the Spackler in a multi-colored floral motif and the Montera Reversible Bucket Hat. The 5-panel campers appear in the spring seasonal offering in a mix of colors, prints and materials. Standout colorways include the Pulled 5-Panel with an all-over tonal checkerboard arrangement and the Rich Jacobs Davis 5-Panel with a custom printed bill created by the artist, Rich Jacobs. Rounding out the collection are two dip-dyed color-ups of the Dipped Snapback and a trio of retro-inspired hat silhouettes such as the Salton Snapback, Salton Strapback and Vintage V Strapback. Vans bucket hats, campers, snapbacks and strapbacks retail from $28-$30 USD and are available now at vans.com and Vans flagship stores.
You ever wonder what it’d be like if Bruno had a section in Above/Below? Well wonder no more. Rich Forne lays it out in a way that is both mesmerizing and enlightening. Some of the grinds in here will change the game, others will shit on the game… The point is that it’s a game and clearly Bruno is in the lead. The fakie Luc-e to tooth link is what stood out most to me. It’s so weird to see revisited New York spots get bent over and just ffffuuuuccckkkkeeeddddddd without warning.
The flier pretty much tells you everything you need to know, but this should be a good one.

Tyler Fernengel and extended family rider, Kevin Peraza are officially on the Vans pro team and busted ass in this new Welcome To Vans video.
“These guys are no stranger to riding Vans and we would officially like to welcome Tyler Fernengel, TJ Ellis and Kevin Peraza to the Vans BMX Pro team. There are heaps of road trips planned throughout the year so these guys are going to hit the ground running in waffle soles. Music: “The River” by People’s Temple” – Vans
Tyler Fernengel, Kevin Peraza & TJ Ellis are no stranger to wearing some waffle soles and today they all got the well deserved bump up to the Vans pro team. Good mix of street, dirt & park in this with Justin Kosman behind the lens and a crazy last clip brought to you by no other than Tyler Fernengel.
Extra: People really need to stop spelling Tyler’s last name wrong. F-E-R-N-E-N-G-E-L
