Vans, the original action sports brand, and London fashion house, Liberty Art Fabrics, come together once again to release a holiday collection that hits stores this October. The Vans x Liberty Art Fabrics partnership launches five Liberty prints in its sophomore season on the Vans Era 59, Authentic and Sk8-Hi Reissue styles alongside the women’s specific Sk8-Hi Slim. The choice of fabrics for this season’s capsule provides a range of prints dating back to the beginnings of Liberty’s rich history.
The Authentic kicks off the collection with the oldest print in the pack. The Liberty Hera has been in the books since the 1890s and is now a brand trademark. The peacock design features a mix of red and blue tones across the canvas Authentic. The all-white foxing provides a clean look and pops the classic print.
First printed for Liberty in 1967, the Ianthe fabric is featured on each quarter panel of the Sk8-Reissue. Royal blue upper materials and premium leather sidestriping complement the array of tones utilized in this intricate print.
A special offering just for women comes in the form of the Sk8-Hi Slim. The slimmed-down Vans Classic is available exclusively in women’s sizing and highlights Liberty’s Glenjade floral. Now known as Ditsy Floral, the allover pattern originates from an archived 1930s design, which was mass-produced in 1955.
The Era 59 completes the assortment with a duo of colorways. Patterns integrated into each aesthetic include the Capel floral first printed in 1978 and the speckled Melly motif. Each edition of the Era 59 is accented by the same pattern in two-toned color blocking.
Since 1875, Liberty Art Fabrics has remained dedicated to pushing the envelope of printed material design from London to fashion hubs across the world. That dedication combined with its rich history connected Vans with this legendary company for another installment of iconic footwear. Both heritage brands are proud to present the Vans x Liberty Art Fabrics collection for delivery this holiday season.
The Vans x Liberty Art Fabrics collection retails for $60 – $70 USD and arrives this October globally at Vans retail locations, at vans.com/liberty and the one and only Liberty of London on Regent Street.

Vans Classics Holiday 2013: Van Doren Series
Vans continues to celebrate its rich heritage with the holiday 2013 delivery of the Van Doren Series. As a tribute to Vans’ early days, the Van Doren Series reissues long-gone prints across an assortment of Classic silhouettes. For the fifth installment of the series, the Maui, Multi Stripe and Camo patterns resurface after decades in the design archive for a trio of Eras and a single offering of the Classic Slip-On. The funky hues of the Hawaiian-styled Maui motif and subtle shades of poncho-inspired Multi Stripe pattern channel trends of the early ’90s for two colorways of the Era. The Van Doren Camo print completes the collection with earth tone renderings of the popular lace-up and Slip-On. Each pair is built atop the iconic waffle sole and stamped with the original Van Doren heel tab as nostalgic reminders of Vans’ storied past.
Available October 2013 at select Vans retailers.
If you’re in SoCal and don’t have plans for Halloween, well now you do. Cult is hosting a FREE session at the Vans park in Orange from 5-10 on Halloween. Try and make it out as early as you can because this session will definitely reach capacity. Awesome that the best trick contest requires a costume, that should make for a great video.
“Here’s the Vans Trails Mission 2013 video montage of the Vans BMX dirt riders shred down at some of the most famous trails Belgium has to offer. We teamed up with FMX4EVER to squeeze out and enjoy the last little bit of summer with an epic road trip. Together with GroundedBMX filming, a rad team and some special guests the trip became all-dirt, all the time. We spent 3 days as a community of like minded people in the woods, riding with friends and pushing ourselves to ride as much as possible, all while having the most fun we can. Sessions kicked off and the crew was going hard as ever to clock footage. The Vans Trails Mission 2013 was pure fire, you gotta watch this one! Features Vans Team riders Kenneth Tancre, Nico Vink, Greg Van Tulder, Sven Grieten, Sig Cools, Bart Mol and friends. Special thanks to all the trail diggers, ErmiteTrails, SevenTrails, MXTrails, FMX4EVER and friends for helping make this trip happen! We damn sure made the most out of it, cause when we showcase something we make sure it’s worth it!”
Check out part two of Vans’ French concrete expedition featuring Justin Fouque, Antony Lille, Nicolas Badet, Nicolas Cambon and Alex Valentino. They ride some really fun looking parks and cap it off at an incredicle looking bridge spot.
Here’s the official coverage of the Vans Kill The Line contest, I say “official” because they either had a helicopter or someone really good at climbing trees to shoot some of these clips. Hucker’s winning run is at the end, seriously insane bike control complete with eye contact to the judges mid bar hump 360.
